Our story
Hi I'm Jane, I am the Director of Blue Baobab New Zealand Limited. We are a small business in New Zealand, which came about after we saw an opportunity to import Silver Lining Gumboots from South Africa. Blue Baobab NZ has the sole distribution rights for Silver Lining Gumboots in NZ.
Silver Lining Gumboots are luxury gumboots, designed and manufactured in South Africa by two amazing women entrepreneurs, Liz and Cally, who are looking to improve the comfort and style of woman’s gumboots worldwide and make them a staple in every woman’s wardrobe.
Their manufacturer works with what they call a cradle-to-grave recycling system. Their black gumboots are made from 100% recycled material. They take old pieces of PVC from the electrical, agricultural and medical industries, grind them into little granules and melt those down to make their black gumboots.
In 2021 they launched their first colour product: yellow gumboots with black soles. The yellow uppers are made of virgin PVC, which can be recycled at the end of the boots’ lifespan. 2022 was the Forest Green George and Knysna Gumboots and it's exciting waiting to hear what colour will be revealed for 2023!
We are so excited to be part of their international success and wholeheartly agree with their mantra of ridding the world of gross gumboots! We are thrilled that they are kind on our environment and are a sustainable fashion boot, which any women can be proud to wear!

Worn daily through a very tough winter and then some.
Nice slim fit, they dont do that slap that other gummies do with every step which is nice! Easy to get on and off.
As a horse rider needing to be out at the farm every day no matter the weather, and out dog walking - I've been through all brands of gumboots and nothing has lasted like these.
These are the first that I wore the grip down before they got a teeny teeny leak. Very impressed. Treaded through calf high water and mud almost daily for a year. The base is not that comfortable, but you could easily put in your own sole or sheepskin liner.

I love this jacket as it has a longer back. Also it is light and easy to carry. I wore it quite a lot in summer with just a t-shirt. I did notice the sleeves were quite narrow but it still fitted.
However now it is a little cooler and I wear a t shirt and merino I find this too much clothing for the very narrow sleeves.

We live in a rural area outside central Auckland and so I wear gumboots most days at some point. These boots are a great height, they are comfortable and the look great. I was so impressed with the speed they were delivered too. Highly recommend. I also love that they are made partly with recycled materials.
